Mission Statement & History

MISSION STATEMENT

The purpose of this Association shall be to promote the acquaintance of the membership; to gather and disseminate all matters of interest; establish, foster and maintain a professional spirit; promote good fellowship among its members; offer its expertise as needed to its membership or to any New Hampshire town or city, or other code enforcement agencies interested in the protection of public safety, health, and welfare from the hazards of fire or other dangers resulting from unsound construction or code violations.

HISTORY

NHBOA was incorporated in 1965 with only a few members representing 10 municipalities .  Today 50 years later we now have 145 members representing 175 municipalities some state agencies and numerous private companies who share our dedication to safe building and building system construction.  There are also three (3) satellite chapters in New Hampshire.  They are the Seacoast Officials Association, the Lakes Region Public Safety Officials and the newest, the Building Officials Support Staff.  With these four groups approximately 90% of New Hampshire’s population lives in a community that is served by members in our groups.
