May Training and Membership Meeting

About the Training:

This program will introduce the novice inspector and experienced inspector to basic roof and wall framing configurations and illustrate the importance of load path continuity in repetitive, light-frame wood assemblies. The concept of vertical and lateral loads will be discussed, with an emphasis on resisting high wind loads. Discussion of the critical role wood structural panel (WSP) shear walls, fasteners, and metal connectors play in safely transmitting these loads to supporting sub-grade. A pictorial guide of areas that are routinely identified as non-code compliant will also be presented to assist inspectors in trouble shooting these areas.
