Course Description:
State Electrical Inspector Ken Vallery from the NH State Fire Marshal’s office, Bureau of Building Safety and Construction will be guiding building officials through the topic of grounding and bonding. This training will be based on the 2023 National Electrical Code (NEC). Topics will include basic grounding, grounding electrodes and grounding electrode conductors for services. In addition, we will explore bonding, equipment grounding conductors, and separately derived system grounding. This training will review important sizing tables and explain how to inspect for the proper conductor sizing, installation and protection of earth grounds.

About the Instructor:
Ken Vallery is the New Hampshire State Electrical Inspector in the Bureau of Building and Construction for the Office of the State Fire Marshal. His district includes north of the lakes’ region from Lebanon over to Wakefield and to Pittsburg. He has been an electrical inspector for 21 years, including his time with the state, and before that with the City of Concord. He has over 40 years of experience in the electrical industry in industrial, commercial, and residential wiring, and is licensed in New Hampshire, Colorado and Massachusetts.
Ken has been an electrical instructor for over 20 years. In 2014 he started KSV Electrical Seminars, providing quality education and training to support practitioners in the electrical industry. He lives in Lancaster, New Hampshire.
